Mission
New Visions provides supports to individuals with developmental disablities
through demonstration and promotion of independence, self-determination, and personal growth. New Visions is devoted
to ensuring that Human Rights continue to be maintained and increased. It is our mission to assist individuals in being
successful in their environment while supporting their environment while supporting their ideas, dreams, and choices.
Philosophy
Individuals receiving services from New Visions Group Homes, Inc are entitiled
to the same rights and privileges of the other citizens of the community. Because of developmental disabilities
however, they are not always able to obtain needed services themselves. It is our responsibility to see that these individuals
are afforded every opportunity to reach and maintain the highest level of independence. New Visions Group Homes will
ensure that individuals receiving supports will live in an environment that encourages continued growth and ensures equality
to others within their community. Individuals receiving supports will have an individualized habilitation plan developed
and maintained by the person receiving supports, their guardian, a representative from the Joplin Regional Center, and New
Visions Group Homes.
History
Since 1982, New Visions has been providing supports to individuals with
developmental disabilities in the Jasper, Newton, and McDonald counties. Over the years, New Visions has been involved
in the evolution and continuation of the delivery system of supports provided in Southwest Missouri. With the first
group home opening in July of 1990, New Visions has continued to offer a variety of excellent services.
